Troop 16 began in early 2008.  We have just finished our first fundraiser which was a huge success.  Some people have heard of Troop 16 for many years in the Choctaw Area Council, but this a new Troop 16.  The Scoutmaster actually grew up in the original Troop 16 in Collinsville when it was first at Collinsville United Methodist.  He then decided to start a troop at his current church, Midway Baptist Church in Meridian.  Shortly after filing the paperwork to get Troop 326 started, he learned that Troop 16 had just disbanded and the council was able to change all paperwork to reflect his new troop as Troop 16.  We are currently up to 5 boys on our roster and working to add more as we go.  All of our boys are just starting with Boy Scouts.  We have a few that have had some experience with Cub Scouts or Webelos and we have one boy who came from the disbanding 16 and has been through Cub Scouts and Webelos.  Not a lot of experience, but there seems to be a lot of passion for learning about Boy Scouts and getting out there and doing what we need to do to become a GREAT Boy Scout Troop.
